Lake Norman Wind

This spring has been kind to us as far as wind.  There's been some good conditions for both windsurfing and SUP downwinders.  Here are a couple of short video edits and pics...

SUP downwinder pics below - paddled with Rob Not Rob.  This first pic is from my Speed Coach GPS.  We launched from the Peninsula Yacht Club in Cornelius and paddled with the SW wind (15-20mph) down the main channel to Eddie's Bar & Grill in Mooresville.  Top speed was 8.2 mph.  1st mile was upwind shlog to the downwind line and last 2 miles was a warm down flat water paddle back to our car.   The middle 6.5 miles were pure downwind bliss.

Awesome! It's cool to get a great session in the OBX or the Gorge where it's always great, but there's something even cooler about having fun conditions right in your back yard. That sunny highwind session on the small red starboard looked sweet.
